Prelude Vineyards Chardonnay
Wine
Leeuwin Estate Prelude Vineyards Chardonnay is the younger sibling of the famous Art Series Chardonnay. It is made with select parcels of estate grown fruit.
The fruit is cooled and crushed. After some skin contact to build texture, the juice is settled and racked to one third new French oak barrels. Fermentation is with inoculated and natural yeasts.
The lees are stirred regularly. After nine months in barrel, the individual parcels are blended, fined, cold stabilized and bottled.
Pale yellow, Leeuwin Estate Prelude Vineyards Chardonnay has bright fruit flavours, diligent oak and subtle texture with a fine thread of mineral acidity.
Though made to drink on release, cellaring potential is seven years.
